The following departments facilitate important work on behalf of our international communion. These departments seek to assist the many more departments that operate within our various provinces and dioceses.
This organ assists the development of dioceses and provinces in various parts of the world and provides a temporary council for bishops who are not yet part of a developed province.
• COMMISSION ON MINISTRY
This organ is responsible for education and training, and for the credentialing and licensing of ministers and those who seek ordination.
• COMMISSION ON THEOLOGY
This organ is responsible for initiating and responding to issues of theology and doctrine, as such arise within the CCI. It is further charged with overseeing the theological publications and papers of the Communion.
• ECUMENICAL OFFICE
This organ is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with other Christian faith jurisdictions, and for continuing inter-faith dialogue.
• INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENT FUND
This organ was formed by the College of Bishops to raise, administer, and distribute material resources on behalf of the Great Commission.
• OFFICE FOR THE ARMED FORCES & CHAPLAINCIES
This is a US-specific organ that certifies military and hospital chaplains. Since some chaplains are based in various parts of the world, the indirect benefit of shared fellowship and ministry sometimes accrues to our churches in countries outside the United States of America.
